I'm honoured to call Betty Roberts 'Nan'. She was, and is, a constant inspiration to me. She taught me to be kind, be calm and work hard. She taught a southerner how northern humour worked, and she always spoiled me whenever she saw me. The last time I saw Nan, we walked through a Garden Centre, holding hands and talking about all the different plants. Its a small but fond memory that I'll always keep close. I love my Nan, and even at 32 I've never been ashamed to say it. She was, and is, one of the greatest role models for a good person you'll ever hope to meet.
